What is the HomeSchool ID: ID Verify® System?

For many years, homeschoolers have been negatively impacted by both Daytime Curfew and Truancy laws. Strict enforcement of these laws has become a recent priority in communities across the nation. In order to provide homeschoolers with an additional tool to prevent unnecessary arrest, detention, court appearances and fines, HomeSchool ID has created the ID Verify® system.

How Does It Work?

The HomeSchool ID: ID Verify® system uses the latest web-enabled technology. Using QR (quick response) Code technology and a smart phone equipped with a free scanning app, any law enforcement officer can instantly access an online document that verifies the student's homeschool status.

The ID Verify® document displays the student's photo, ID number, name and telephone number as shown on their physical HomeSchool ID. The match-up will give the officer confidence that the ID is valid and he is far more likely to send the student on his way with no more hassle. In addition, an emergency phone number is provided for those officers having additional questions. We respect the homeschool family's right to privacy and will only verify information already shown on the student's HomeSchool ID.

What does this mean for homeschoolers?

Any family using the HomeSchool ID with ID Verify® runs a significantly lower risk of their student being arrested or detained for truancy violations than with any other homeschool student ID card, including ones that are homemade.
